This part-time role is ideal for individuals pursuing an Information Technology or Audio-Visual career who are looking to gain experience to supplement their college courses. The Part-Time AV Technician will assist the AV Engineer and IT Support Team with conference room and event setup and troubleshooting. Success in this role requires excellent communication, fast-thinking problem-solving skills, the ability to work well under pressure, and familiarity with AV basics and platforms like Microsoft Teams and Zoom. The role demands a self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision to provide excellent customer support before, during, and after meetings and events.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
  • Understanding of Basic AV functionality (Cameras, Mics, TVs, Projectors, additional hardware and software).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in front of people observing you.
  • Multi-tasking abilities.
  • Adaptability: Ability to embrace change and shift focus when unexpected work arises.
  • Time Management: Ability to use discernment to prioritize tasks and decide what to focus on to maximize impact.
  • Customer Service: Ability to actively seek to understand the needs of others and provide a positive experience that addresses their needs, questions, and concerns.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on AV experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with the healthcare recruiting industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with various meeting types in different conference room settings.
  • Troubleshoot issues before and during meetings and events.
  • Work with IT Support to assist with AV-related incidents and requests.
  • Make recommendations to customers related to AV resources for event setups.
  • Assist the Desktop and Mobility Team during low-event days.
  • Document customer interactions and issue resolutions accurately in the Support Center IT Service Management system (ServiceNow).
  • Keep all incident and request tickets updated with thorough, detailed information.
  • Maintain detailed records to facilitate knowledge sharing and reporting.
  • Produce informative and helpful Knowledge Base articles, if the opportunity arises, to assist team members in resolving similar future AV issues.
