About The Position

The Audio Visual Technician II provides technical support and installs all instructional facilities on campus. Installs and maintains all presentation classrooms, conference rooms, digital signage systems, conferencing systems, and Emergency P.A. systems. Monitors and responds to calls to the help desk. May provide guidance and train entry-level Audio Visual Technicians. This role provides advanced technical support for all audiovisual systems within the Bryant Conference Center. Working under the direction of the Audio Visual Team Lead, installs, operates, maintains, troubleshoots, and supports professional audiovisual and presentation systems used for conferences, meetings, livestreams, recordings, and special events. Serves as the department's senior technician and performs many duties independently while supporting high-profile University and external clients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of audio visual technical support experience; OR associates degree or higher and some audio visual technical support experience.
  • Must have valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Basic keyboarding skills.
  • Knowledge of basic computing and presentation software.
  • Strong computer, audiovisual, and/or network troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to effectively work independently and as part of a highly skilled team.
  • Physically capable of transporting and setting up equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Basic programming, networking, or system skills.
  • Knowledge of Analog Way or similar video switching platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) years of professional audiovisual technical support experience.
  • CTS Certification, or ability to obtain within one (1) year.
  • Experience with livestreaming.
  • Experience with AV networking.
  • Experience supporting live events.
  • Experience with Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, Dante, or similar enterprise AV platforms.
  • Experience with audio mixing consoles and audio mixing concepts.
  • Dante Level 1 Certification and/or Q-Sys Level 1 certification.
