Requirements

  • 1 year or more of customer service or hospitality experience is preferred.
  • 2 years or more of audio visual experience or equivalent in educational environment is preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical AV certifications such as CTS a plus

Responsibilities

  • The AV Technician is responsible for the set up and operation of basic / small-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot most AV equipment and systems, i.e., Projection systems / display devices, Video mixer control systems, Switching / routing / interfacing technology, Videoconferencing & Audio conferencing technologies.
  • Technical understanding of AV and IT systems.
  • Up-to-date awareness of AV and IT technologies and their features.
  • Ability to operate digital audio consoles (A1).
  • Ability to read and follow AV system flow diagrams and support documentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers including such programs as MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to operate related AV technologies required for the job, i.e. Town Hall events, conference room meetings, video conference based events (sometimes using Telepresence).
  • Ability to work with an onsite AV team on a daily basis.
  • The AV Technician ensures a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment.
  • Strive to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with all clients through effective communication.
  • Meet with guests on site to ensure that their needs are met and the equipment setup is working properly.
  • Monitor events and checks in on customers throughout the day.
  • Understand and foster the hotel/client relationship.
