About The Position

Our client is looking for an AV/IT Systems Engineer to join their team at a premier athletic and event venue in Boston where sport, technology, and live events come together. This is a high-visibility, hands-on role supporting everything from elite athletic competitions to corporate events, working closely with the AV Manager and cross-functional teams across Technology, Operations, and Events.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in AV support, IT support, AV production, or a related technical role
  • Hands-on experience with AV systems — Crestron, Q-SYS, or similar control systems
  • Experience supporting video conferencing platforms
  • Solid understanding of signal flow, cabling, patching, and AV system components
  • Comfortable working independently and making sound decisions in a live event environment
  • Strong communication skills across both technical and non-technical teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with mixers, microphones, PTZ cameras, or AV-over-IP
  • Familiarity with digital signage platforms
  • AVIXA CTS certification (or interest in pursuing it)

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, operate, and maintain AV systems — audio, video, control systems, and conferencing technologies
  • Support the setup, testing, and execution of live events, including serving as a primary or supporting system operator
  • Provide white-glove AV and IT support for high-profile clients and executives in live, fast-paced environments
  • Troubleshoot AV systems, workplace technology, and basic network-related issues
  • Support and maintain video walls, digital signage platforms, and content distribution systems
  • Apply networking fundamentals (VLANs, IP addressing, connectivity) to support AV infrastructure
  • Create and maintain documentation — diagrams, SOPs, how-to guides, and equipment inventories
  • Coordinate with vendors and third-party providers for installations, service, and diagnostics
  • Proactively identify ways to improve system reliability, user experience, and operational efficiency
