About The Position

Within the spirit of “Making People’s Dreams Come True”, this position is responsible for operating and maintaining the sound and lighting equipment to aid performers, on-stage talent, and public speakers to present various entertainment and events. These duties are accomplished while delivering Raving Fans customer service to both internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one (1) to three (3) years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic to advanced understanding of analog and digital mixing consoles, speaker/amplifier systems, microphones, DMX lighting control and other related equipment.
  • Strong communication skills to interface with both on-stage talent, audiences and residents of The Villages while maintaining safety for all.
  • Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Must have the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as business needs require.
  • This position is subjected to The Villages Vehicle Safety Program and its policies as it requires the use of personal vehicles for company business. Please refer to the Vehicle Safety Program for the policies and procedures that this position is required to follow.
  • A Valid Driver’s License with a record acceptable to company standards is required for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in the field of live sound and event production preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up all audio equipment to meet the needs of production.
  • Accept and implement changes on a permanent or temporary basis (to fit custom performances) as requested by The Villages Entertainment Department.
  • Responsible for safe storage and inventory of all equipment.
  • Support the on-stage talent in a manner that helps them give the best possible performances while keeping safety a priority by honoring and following the departmental guidelines.
  • Provide consistent and timely presentation of scheduled performances.
  • Monitor audio levels during performances to identify and correct issues.
  • Adapt and resolve challenges as they arise, including, but not limited to, equipment malfunctions, inventory shortages, absentee or delayed personnel, and special event requirements or directives from The Villages Entertainment Department.
  • All other duties as assigned.
