About The Position

Develop and support all aspects of Land Mobile Radio (LMR) audio performance including microphone, speaker and enclosure performance across all products and accessories. This role is with an OEM in the 2 Way Communication Market, a mission-driven company where employees take pride in manufacturing crucial communication equipment for heroes and emergency responders. The company has a 70-year legacy of reliability in the wireless communications equipment market and is known for its great family atmosphere where co-workers are friendly and highly collaborative.

Requirements

Minimum Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
2-5 years of Electrical Engineering design experience.
3 years of Research and Development experience.
Understanding of advanced Engineering concepts including materials, components and development software.
Solid knowledge in audio design.
Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills.
Good analytical skills.
Very detail-oriented, accurate and organized.
Ability to work under pressure, on multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong computer skills including Excel, Word and Power Point required.

Responsibilities

Capture end-user and market-based requirements to help generate suitable solutions.
Set up and improve audio testing capabilities and performance.
Prepare concept design of audio systems for portable, mobile, and base station equipment and related accessories.
Work closely with the hardware team to provide design feedback based on circuit requirements and user requirements.
Work closely with the teams (internal and external) to mature the audio solutions and testing across the portfolio including noise reduction, acoustic performance, audio accessories and EOL activities that consistently meet the requirements.
