About The Position

Rhino Staging is seeking Lead Audio Engineers to support concert tours, festivals, corporate events, and other live events in the greater Denver area. The A1 is responsible for the live sound system, technical execution, and front-of-house (FOH) mixing for primary show environments and general sessions. This is an on-call, as-needed W-2 position with variable hours and no minimum guarantee of hours per week or month. Work may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Compensation starts at $30 per hour, depending on experience (DOE).

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of live audio engineering experience for large-scale live productions and/or corporate events.
• Advanced mastery of major digital and analog mixing consoles, such as Yamaha, Soundcraft, and DiGiCo.
• Strong knowledge of Dante networking, frequency coordination, and room-tuning software.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift at least 50 pounds for equipment handling.
• Ability to consistently walk, stand, bend, stoop, and twist for on-site tasks.
• Reliable transportation to and from event sites in a timely manner.
• Understanding of general industry terms and fundamental principles.
• Willingness to work indoors or outdoors under varying weather conditions.
• Willingness to work cohesively with teammates and supervisors.
• Ability to wear attire and footwear appropriate for concert and corporate events, as outlined in Rhino policies.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English to support safe task execution and coordination with crew and clients.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Direct configuration, placement, tuning (“ringing out”), and striking of the entire event audio system.
• Mix live audio from the FOH console, balancing musicians, vocalists, presenters, panel microphones, and audio/video playback systems.
• Oversee the Audio Assist (A2) in managing wireless RF microphone frequencies and coordinating backstage microphone placement.
• Collaborate with the Producer and Show Caller to track live event cues.
