About The Position

Apple is seeking an experienced, technically driven Audio Architecture Engineering Program Manager within Hardware Program Management. The role leads cross-functional coordination and alignment for future Audio IP and tracks pre-silicon and post-silicon validation across SoCs and products. The program manager acts as an operational partner to Platform Architects and collaborates across Platform Architecture (PA), Audio Software, System Architecture, Acoustics, and Silicon Engineering. The position drives recurring architecture forums, streamlines feature intake, tracks specification milestones from requirements through architecture freeze, and follows critical Audio IP updates through pre-silicon validation and post-silicon bring-up. It offers exposure to multiple product lines and long-range roadmaps, with visibility to engineering leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • 3+ years of Engineering Program Management, Technical Program Management, or engineering leadership experience.
  • Experience coordinating programs spanning multiple engineering teams across hardware, silicon, or software disciplines.
  • Experience tracking technical deliverables, specification milestones, or validation schedules across SoC or IP development lifecycles.
  • Familiarity with audio subsystems, DSPs, digital serial interfaces such as SoundWire, I2S, or PDM, or power-constrained wearable/hearable architectures.
  • Experience tracking pre-silicon verification, including emulation, FPGA, or modeling, and post-silicon bring-up for complex IPs or SoCs.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships, influence without authority, and drive alignment across senior architects and engineering leads.
  • Ability to distill complex technical issues and dependencies into clear executive summaries.

Responsibilities

  • Lead operational alignment across Platform Architecture, Audio Software, System Architecture, Acoustics, and Silicon Design, coordinating planning across hardware and software.
  • Organize and drive recurring audio architecture forums, including preparing pre-reads, facilitating discussions, and tracking action items.
  • Manage incoming feature proposals, such as one-page proposals and feasibility studies, through cross-functional review to actionable outcomes.
  • Partner with Platform Architects to manage the Audio Architecture Specification schedule and track deliverables from requirements baseline through formal architecture freeze.
  • Track pre-silicon milestones, including algorithmic models, virtual platforms, FPGA, and emulation, and post-silicon bring-up and validation progress for critical Audio IP updates across SoCs.
  • Monitor feature health, test execution, and blocker resolution.
  • Coordinate long-range acoustic and software technology alignment with SoC planning timelines across wearable, mobile, and desktop platforms.
  • Track cross-functional dependencies, open investigations, and need-by dates across relevant engineering teams; proactively escalate and mitigate risks.
  • Synthesize program status, validation progress, schedule risks, and cross-functional decisions into concise, data-driven updates for engineering leadership.
