We are actively seeking a driven Workers' Compensation Attorney to join our highly skilled Workers' Compensation Defense Team. We are looking for a legal professional with a strong foundation in Workers' Compensation insurance defense and/or civil litigation to represent clients statewide before the Office of the Judges of Compensation Claims. Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.
  • 2+ years of combined experience in Workers' Compensation insurance defense and/or civil litigation
  • A proven track record of managing a caseload independently and navigating all stages of litigation

Responsibilities

  • Manages workers' compensation defense cases from intake through resolution.
  • Conducts discovery, including drafting/responding to requests and reviewing records.
  • Conducts and defends depositions of claimants, witnesses, and experts.
  • Drafts, argues, and responds to evidentiary and procedural motions.
  • Prepares case evaluations, analyses, and status reports per client guidelines.
  • Drafts pleadings, settlement proposals, and correspondence; represents clients at hearings, mediations, and court appearances (periodic travel required).
  • Maintains accurate, timely billing and documentation in accordance with firm and client standards.
  • Coordinates case tasks with paralegals and support staff.
  • Participates in internal meetings and incorporates feedback from supervising attorneys.
