A well-established and growing law firm specializing in elder law and trust & estate planning is seeking an experienced Trust & Estates / Elder Law Attorney to join its Melville, NY office. This role is ideal for an attorney with strong experience in estate planning, elder law, and estate administration who is passionate about helping clients protect their assets, navigate Medicaid eligibility, and plan for the future while providing exceptional legal guidance and client service.

Requirements

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active admission to the New York State Bar
Strong experience in elder law, estate planning, and estate administration
In-depth knowledge of New York State laws and Medicaid eligibility requirements
Proven experience handling probate and estate administration matters
Ability to interpret and apply complex legal regulations
Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship skills
Ability to manage multiple cases while delivering high-quality legal service

Responsibilities

Provide expert legal advice to clients on elder law, estate planning, and estate administration matters
Draft and review legal documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and other estate planning instruments
Represent clients in probate and estate administration proceedings
Guide clients through Medicaid eligibility requirements and application processes
Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations related to elder law and estate planning
Manage individual caseloads while collaborating with a team of attorneys and legal staff
Maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and ongoing updates
Stay current with evolving laws and regulations related to elder law, Medicaid, and estate planning
