Regular in-office presence is required for day-to-day operations, as well as for team meetings, training opportunities, and relationship building. This role reports to the Director of Attorney Talent Acquisition. Position Summary The Attorney Talent Acquisition Specialist will help manage the full cycle recruitment process for our Northern California lateral associates, non-track attorneys, and OCI/summer/first-year associate programs. This role will also provide additional support to the lateral shareholder recruitment process and other offices as needed. The successful candidate will play a key part in building attorney candidate pipelines, coordinating recruitment efforts, and supporting talent initiatives firmwide.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), professional demeanor, and presentation; ability to interact effectively with candidates, all levels of firm personnel, and a variety of external clients
  • Provide outstanding client service, meet high quality standards for services, and meet or exceed client expectations; proactive in seeking innovative ways in which to help others
  • Possess superior judgment and discretion; recognize confidential, sensitive, and proprietary information, and maintain confidentiality
  • Analytical with strong problem-solving skills, takes initiative and uses good judgment, excellent follow-up skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Human Resources, Business, Organization Development, or related field preferred
  • Five to eight years of related attorney recruiting experience, preferably with a large law firm
  • Proficiency with Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook required
  • Working knowledge of recruiting software and applicant tracking systems (e.g., Workday, Firm Prospects, LinkedIn Recruiter)
  • Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly

Responsibilities

  • Work with office and/or practice leadership on strategic identification and development of attorney candidate pipelines
  • Meet regularly with office management and/or practice group leadership to review hiring needs and potential candidates
  • Manage the entire recruitment process for attorney candidates, including initial review of candidate materials, responding to inquiries, collecting information from lateral candidates, coordinating interviews (scheduling, monitoring, evaluation follow-up), and communicating with candidates and search firms regarding candidate status
  • Coordinate with Talent Acquisition staff and other administrative departments (e.g., Human Resources, Conflicts) to complete recruitment-related checks (background, conflicts, references, bar status), new hire paperwork, and other employment-related processes
  • Assist other offices with candidate and market research as necessary
  • Manage relationships with search firms
  • Maintain applicant database and department records and generate reports
  • Support on-campus recruiting, summer associate, and first-year associate programs
  • Assist with other department activities as needed, and perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
