About The Position

This is a fully remote Associate Attorney position specializing in Family Law, based in Washington. The firm offers a unique support system, handling calendaring, filing, and billing, allowing attorneys to focus on client interaction and courtroom advocacy. The role requires a skilled advocate and a compassionate guide to manage a caseload from beginning to end. The firm emphasizes a work-life balance with a minimum of 25 billed hours per week, offering significant earning potential beyond the base salary through an uncapped bonus structure. Requirements

• J.D. and an active WSBA license in good standing.
• 1+ years of family law litigation experience, or 4+ years of general litigation experience.
• Confident courtroom presence and sharp legal writing skills.
• Self-direction and organization to thrive in a remote setting.
• Genuine empathy and the ability to deliver hard news clearly and kindly.

Nice To Haves

• Washington family law trial experience.
• Mediation or collaborative law training.
• Clio and Microsoft 365 experience.

Responsibilities

• Own a family law caseload including dissolutions, legal separations, parenting plans, child support, modifications, relocations, and protection orders.
• Draft pleadings, motions, declarations, discovery, parenting plans, settlement agreements, and final orders.
• Appear at hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials in superior courts across Western Washington (Kitsap, King, Pierce, Snohomish, Mason, and Jefferson counties), both in person and remotely.
• Build case strategy, evaluate settlement options, and negotiate with opposing counsel and pro se parties.
• Serve as the primary client contact, ensuring clients are informed, prepared, and supported.
• Track time in Clio and contribute to the firm's strategic development.

Benefits

• Base salary of $120,000 per year.
• Uncapped quarterly bonus based on billed hours (minimum 25 hours/week, with reductions for time off).
