The Georgia Department of Revenue is seeking an experienced attorney to join the Tax Policy Division as an Attorney 3 or Attorney 4. Reporting to the Program Manager in the Tax Policy Division, you will be responsible for providing analysis and/or recommendations on legal issues within the scope and authority of the agency. Key duties include but are not limited to assisting the Tax Policy Division with implementation and administration of new statutory mandates. The successful candidate will perform detailed research and analysis and will assist with the promulgation of new regulations. Additionally, the candidate will review and advise on questions related to tax. Duties also include drafting legal instruments, policy bulletins, and legal opinions, as well as participating in the negotiation of settlement agreements and tax controversies. As a trusted legal advisor, you will partner with Department leaders, the Office of the Attorney General, legislators, and stakeholders across state government to resolve complex legal issues, and mitigate organizational risk.
