The Georgia Department of Revenue is seeking an experienced attorney to join the Tax Policy Division as an Attorney 3 or Attorney 4. This role involves providing analysis and recommendations on legal issues, assisting with the implementation and administration of new statutory mandates, and performing detailed research. The candidate will also help with the promulgation of new regulations, review and advise on tax-related questions, and draft legal instruments, policy bulletins, and legal opinions. Additionally, the position includes participating in the negotiation of settlement agreements and tax controversies. The attorney will serve as a trusted legal advisor, partnering with Department leaders, the Office of the Attorney General, legislators, and stakeholders to resolve complex legal issues and mitigate organizational risk. This is an opportunity to provide strategic legal counsel to executive leadership, impact statewide tax policy, support legislative initiatives, and shape the legal framework for a major state agency.
