About The Position

The Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining guest rooms to established standards while making them special and memorable for guests. The role includes assisting guests with requests, keeping supervisors informed about room-service progress and needed repairs, monitoring housekeeping supplies and amenities, minimizing waste, and handling lost and found property according to hotel procedures. Attendants work with other departments to deliver excellent service, may assist with deep-cleaning projects and turndown duties, and may perform other assigned tasks. This is a physical role involving much of the day on one's feet, occasional lifting or pushing and pulling heavy objects, and bending or kneeling. Shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

Physical fitness to be on one's feet for most of the day.
Ability to occasionally lift items up to 50 pounds (23 kilograms) and/or push or pull heavy objects.
Ability to bend and kneel to complete some activities.
Reading, writing, and basic math skills.
Flexible attitude toward shifts, including possible nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

Maintain guest rooms to established standards and make them special and memorable for guests.
Assist guests with requests, such as providing a toothbrush or directions.
Keep the supervisor updated on room-service progress and report repairs that are needed.
Follow established safety procedures and wear protective equipment when needed.
Monitor supplies and amenities, stay organized, and minimize waste throughout housekeeping areas.
Report, turn in, and log lost and found items according to established procedures.
Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments according to hotel procedures to ensure excellent quality and service.
May regularly assist with deep-cleaning projects.
May have turndown duties.
May assist with other duties as assigned, including ad-hoc tasks.
