This is a hands-on role for a 24/7 manufacturing facility. Our equipment operators are assigned to a team on a 24/7 operation to support manufacturing. This can either be rotating, days, swing or night shifts and weekends. Work days and shifts may change to help cover vacations/absences, during plant downtime or related events such as audits. In the USA, Saputo ranks among the top three cheese producers and is one of the top producers of extended shelf-life and cultured dairy products, with a portfolio of well-loved brands such as Stella, Frigo Cheese, Montchevre , Stella, and Treasure Cave. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing, warehousing, dairy food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Good math skills.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated work history.
  • Good attendance is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Safe and efficient operation of production equipment, which may include: packaging equipment, case gluer, case tape machine, stretch wrapper and conveying equipment.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOP’s) in detail without deviation.
  • Set-up packaging coders, validate product codes in accordance with code specifications.
  • Inspect product for defects.
  • Sort, identify and remove out-of-specification product.
  • Package product, either manually or operate packaging equipment in accordance with customer orders and specifications.
  • Perform routine equipment adjustments.
  • Accurately and neatly complete production records and documents.
  • Assist with equipment size and packaging change-overs, CIP/SIP, clean-up and equipment set-up.
  • Perform product reclaim and rework operations.
  • Support internal audits.
  • Follow all established occupational health and safety procedures.
  • Follow all established GMP’s and Food Safety requirements.
  • Perform good housekeeping within established housekeeping guidelines.
  • Adhere to the Saputo Code of Ethics, actively apply the Saputo Company Values and Workplace Climate Policy.
  • Work together in a team environment with co-workers, cross-train and rotate positions frequently.
  • Other duties as required by management.
