About The Position

The Attendant II position is responsible for performing janitorial services in high-traffic restrooms and lobbies of state rest areas. This role also ensures outdoor trash bins are emptied on a scheduled basis and the exterior of the facility is free of litter and debris to promote a welcoming environment for travelers, as outlined in the statement of work. The position assists with exterior lawn maintenance and performs basic interior and exterior maintenance projects. The schedule is Saturday-Wednesday, 11 PM-7 AM, with a pay rate of $10/hr for full-time employment.

Responsibilities

• Ensures all operational and safety procedures are properly followed, maintaining a clean and safe work area utilizing effective time management skills.
• Ensures restrooms are presentable for public usage through inspection, cleaning of mirrors, sinks, countertops, walls, toilets, and urinals; restocking soap dispensers and paper products; emptying trash containers; sweeping and mopping floors; maintaining inventory and cleanliness between cleanings; and assisting with basic plumbing maintenance (plunging and unstopping drains).
• Ensures the Main Building and Lobby are clean and presentable for the public by cleaning walls, windows, doors, displays, and disinfecting water fountains; emptying trash containers; sweeping and mopping floors; sweeping and blowing entrances; and assisting with interior maintenance such as painting, deep cleaning floors, and buffing floors.
• Ensures Grounds and Parking areas meet contractual expectations by cleaning entrance doors and windows, keeping sidewalks, parking lots, and walkways clear of litter and debris; emptying outdoor trash cans and taking them to the dumpster; removing weeds and grass from flowerbeds; assisting with removal and planting of flower beds; assisting with trimming of shrubs; wiping down picnic arbors and tables daily; assisting with painting and maintenance of arbors; checking and cleaning barbeque grills and assisting with repair and maintenance as required; reporting any damage or stains to curbs and pavement requiring repair; assisting with repair and maintenance utilizing power washers or basic hand tools; reporting any graffiti damage for repair or removal and assisting with removal and repair; emptying trash at shift end; and assisting with lawn maintenance including weed eating, edging, mowing, and trimming low tree branches.
• Greets and assists travelers with any comments or questions.
• Maintains professional conduct in accordance with WSC policy.
• Performs other job-related duties as required by supervisor.
