About The Position

Under the direction of the principal or designee, to enforce attendance laws and regulations; to investigate causes of non-attendance and to take appropriate action to improve attendance; to work with students, parents, and community agencies to resolve attendance issues; and to perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Valid Nevada driver's license.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Ability to pass a background check.
Knowledge of attendance laws and regulations.
Knowledge of child development and family dynamics.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, school staff, and community agencies.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Nice To Haves

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Experience working with at-risk youth or in a school setting.
Bilingual in Spanish or other languages spoken by the student population.

Responsibilities

Investigate causes of student non-attendance and take appropriate action to improve attendance.
Work with students, parents, and community agencies to resolve attendance issues.
Enforce attendance laws and regulations.
Maintain records and prepare reports related to student attendance.
Conduct home visits and interviews with students and parents.
Collaborate with school staff, counselors, and social workers.
Refer students and families to appropriate community resources.
Provide information and education on attendance policies and procedures.
Participate in truancy review meetings and court proceedings as necessary.
