About The Position

American University seeks part-time Athletics Media & Communications Support Staff to assist with all aspects of gameday run-of-show, promotions, script preparation and review, and creating a positive gameday experience for all constituents. The role supports volleyball, basketball, and wrestling events, collaborating with marketing and sponsorship teams and engaging students, donors, and fans. The position is part-time at 15 hours per week, with gameday work from August through March. It is classified as casual and non-exempt.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• One year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with marketing and sponsorship teams to outline scripts, organize promotional gear, and set up interactive concourse zones.
• Coordinate and run live fan contests, media-timeout promotions, and special presentations for volleyball, basketball, and wrestling.
• Engage directly with students, donors, and fans to build energy, distribute premiums, and maximize crowd participation.
• Assist with corporate partner activations and ensure sponsor-driven contests are executed seamlessly and professionally.
• Work as a member of a fast-acting crew dedicated to building long-term fan loyalty and campus spirit.
