About The Position

Assists with day-to-day maintenance and repair of various indoor and outdoor athletic facilities as well as equipment set-up and take-down and venue preparation for athletic practice, competitions, and events. Position adheres to NCAA and conference rules and regulations, as well as the policies and procedures of the department, the University, and the Arizona Board of Regents.

Requirements

• High School Diploma and two-years (2) experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
• Ability to complete assignments with little or no supervision.
• Tasks required the ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see, and hear to perform essential functions.
• Employee must possess a valid US Driver’s license of the appropriate class and required endorsements throughout employment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in sports or sports-related field and knowledge of the various field or court dimensions and layouts preferred.
• Skill in using landscaping equipment and tools and basic building repair tools.
• Evidence of written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience using painting machine/equipment a plus.
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and take down athletic equipment both indoors and outdoors.
• Various athletic field landscaping tasks.
• Measuring, taping chalking, and/or painting lines and boundaries of courts and fields.
• Various painting projects.
• Repairing and replacing items in facilities.
• Assisting with the inventory.
• Keeping an accurate record of hours worked and submit correct payroll information and documents by state deadline.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
