About The Position

This is a full-time, 10-month position that reports directly to the Director of Athletics. This position serves as the primary liaison between the Athletics Department and the offices of College Counseling and Admission. This dual-role is the primary advocate and strategist for student-athletes aiming to compete at the collegiate level. They are responsible for facilitating the seamless transition of student-athletes from inquiry to enrollment, navigating the college recruitment process, and providing high-level sports performance support. This position will also assist with game administration for home contests. Athletics Liaison to the College Office Serve as the main point of contact between the athletics department and the college office. Educate families on NCAA/NAIA eligibility, and build a professional network with college coaching staffs to increase athlete visibility. Evaluate current student-athletes to determine realistic collegiate potential (NCAA DI, DII, DIII, NAIA, or JUCO). Assist athletes in creating professional "recruitment profiles" and filming/editing high-quality game footage for scouts. Stay proficient with recruiting platforms. Initiate contact with Heads of Programs to learn about standout athletes. Initiate contact with college coaches and recruiters to promote standout athletes. Monitor student transcripts to ensure they meet the NCAA Eligibility Center’s core-course requirements. Work with college counselors to align an athlete’s GPA and standardized test scores with their target colleges' admissions standards. Assist in coordinating workshops for parents and students on recruitment timelines, "contact periods," and the National Letter of Intent (NLI) process. Maintain a database of college coaching contacts across various sports and divisions. Conduct mock interviews with student-athletes to prepare them for calls and official visits with college coaches. Maintain understanding of NCAA Division I, II, and III recruiting calendars and bylaws. Maintain transparency with families and set realistic expectations. Coordinate and collaborate with the admission team, students, and families throughout the process Collaborate with the athletics department head of programs for specific program needs. Track student-athlete progress in the admission/enrollment process and provide updates to the Director of Athletics and Heads of Programs. Sports Performance Assistant Meet regularly with the Director of Sports Performance Assist with developing and implementing evidence-based strength and conditioning programs for all sports, accommodating both in-season and off-season training needs. Provide training opportunities during the school day to accommodate student-athletes' academic and extracurricular schedules. Assist with conducting regular assessments to evaluate athletic progress and use data to inform program adjustments. Teach and supervise athletes on proper lifting techniques, movement patterns, and conditioning exercises to ensure safety and effectiveness. Collaborate with the sports medicine staff on the rehabilitation and re-strengthening of injured athletes. Assist with enforcing risk management policies and procedures for the strength and conditioning facility and training sessions. Provide education to student-athletes on nutrition, hydration, and recovery to support optimal performance and wellness. Work with mental performance coaches to integrate psychological skills training into the athletic performance program. Assist with communicating to athletes, coaches, and parents regarding program philosophy, expectations, and safety protocols. Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and safety of all sports performance and weight room facilities. Instruct students on best practices and supervise the use of advanced recovery systems and equipment, including Normatec and Theragun. Assist with tracking and maintaining records of athlete attendance, assessments, and progress.
