About The Position

Requirements

  • BOC certification or equivalent, with possession or pending acquisition of California state licensure/certification/registration.
  • Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge of injury prevention, rehabilitation, and return-to-play protocols.
  • Calm decision-making under pressure.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Organizational skills for scheduling, documentation, and equipment management.
  • Collaborative approach with athletes, coaches, and medical staff.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. (with assistance if needed).
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
  • Must be available for evening and weekend games.
  • Occasional travel to away games and coverage for select practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field.
  • NFHS training in Concussion in Sports, Heat Illness Prevention, and Sudden Cardiac Arrest.
  • Experience working with high school or youth athletes.

Responsibilities

  • Pregame Prep: Tape, wrap, and stretch athletes as needed; ensure proper fitting of protective equipment.
  • Emergency Medical/Gameday Care: Evaluate, treat, and triage injuries; fabricate protective gear; apply appropriate support taping/wrapping.
  • Follow-Up Medical Care: Monitor recovery, assist with rehabilitation, and communicate injury status to coaches, athletes, and families.
  • Medical Documentation: Maintain accurate injury, treatment, and rehab records.
  • Communication: Serve as a liaison among athletes, coaches, parents, and medical professionals.
  • Brand Promotion: Represent Sac High positively on and off the field.
  • Practice Coverage: Attend select practices as agreed upon with the Athletic Director.
