A passionate and dedicated Certified Athletic Trainer is sought by a dynamic team. The certified athletic trainer is charged with managing the health care of participating athletes, including, but not limited to, first aid/emergency care, on-site injury evaluation, appropriate modalities, prevention, rehabilitation programs and medical referrals. Athletic training services for all sport-related events will be provided in accordance with current contracts. This position is accountable to the Orthopedic Service Line Director. They have full contracts with Horseheads Central School and Elmira City School districts. They also have limited, per diem type contracts with Elmira Heights, Campbell Savona, Notre Dame, Elmira College, and Corning Community College. They provide coverage for the Elmira Pioneers every summer and participate in local summer camps, community outreach, and EMS education. Their dynamic team of athletic trainers also have areas of special interest that they work in during the off seasons (ergonomics, strength and conditioning, orthopedic office coverage, etc.). As a growing program, they are open to new ideas and skills sets that will continue to grow the program.
