About The Position

Provide athletic training outreach services for secondary school(s) and Universities in area. Care for injuries using therapeutic modalities and rehabilitation techniques. Evaluate readiness to return to daily activities, and coordinate clearances when necessary. Provide athletic training outreach and medical care to assigned location. Responsible for athletic training special event coverage when scheduled. Maintain a line of communication with the team physician(s) regarding athletic health care and recommended treatment/rehabilitation for all athletic injuries. Maintain an effective and efficient athletic training room. Maintain communication with parents on the care & treatment of their student-athlete. File all necessary reports associated with athletic injuries and/or incidents. Maintain a daily treatment log. Oversee the ordering of supplies and equipment pertaining to the athletic training room and maintain an up-to-date inventory. Create a safe playing environment by monitoring and controlling environmental risks.

Requirements

  • Degree in athletic training/sports medicine from CAATE approved institution.
  • NATA certification in good standing.
  • Current state license in Athletic Training.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record upon hire (MVR will be screened on an annual basis) if assigned for travel.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years’ experience as a certified athletic trainer.
  • Master’s Degree in related field.
