About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Athletic Trainer to join our outpatient clinic, specializing in an industrial setting. The Athletic Trainer will work with a diverse patient population, primarily focusing on injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for employees in industrial and occupational environments. This role requires collaboration with healthcare professionals, employers, and patients to promote workplace wellness, reduce injury risks, and facilitate safe return-to-work programs. You will be working in an industrial outpatient physical therapy setting and one of our premier sports complexes in Central Wisconsin working with patients in our clinic from all around Central Wisconsin. We see patients from all over our community, all ages, all careers, and different injuries. You will see your knowledge and confidence working with patients blossom as you work with our talented team of therapists and athletic trainers. Our goal is to allow you to become your best self as a trainer through continued education and mentorship with our team!

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training from an accredited program.
  • Current certification by the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer (BOC) and state licensure as an Athletic Trainer.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Athletic Trainer, preferably in an industrial, occupational, or outpatient clinical setting.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, assisting patients, and demonstrating exercises.
  • Strong knowledge of musculoskeletal injuries, rehabilitation techniques, and injury prevention strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to educate and motivate patients and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in ergonomic assessments and workplace safety protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple patients in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with industrial or occupational health programs and familiarity with workers’ compensation processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement workplace injury prevention programs, including ergonomic assessments, stretching routines, and employee education on proper body mechanics.
  • Evaluate acute and chronic injuries, provide immediate care, and develop individualized treatment plans for industrial workers.
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities to restore function and support recovery from musculoskeletal injuries.
  • Collaborate with employers, physical therapists, and occupational health teams to create safe and effective return-to-work protocols.
  • Conduct health and wellness workshops, promoting physical fitness, injury prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices for employees.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including injury reports, treatment plans, and progress notes, in compliance with clinic and regulatory standards.
  • Work closely with physicians, physical therapists, and occupational health specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Ensure adherence to OSHA guidelines and other workplace safety regulations during assessments and interventions.
