This position involves mentoring staff, supervising daily operations, and managing the recognition, management, and rehabilitation of injuries for professional, amateur, and recreational athletes. The Athletic Trainer II provides techniques for injury prevention and works independently under the direction of a Sports Medicine Supervisor and Team Physicians. This role serves as a key point of contact for Allegheny Health Network (AHN) within a school district, college, or professional athletic medicine program, communicating injury management with various stakeholders including athletic directors, coaches, physicians, parents, and staff. Responsibilities also include developing exercise programs, data entry, facility upkeep, supply monitoring, orienting new athletic trainers, and providing feedback for performance evaluations. Additionally, the role involves mentoring students and interns, assisting with concussion baseline software, and providing clinical leadership as a resource for other athletic trainers.
