About The Position

Responsible for the provision of sports medicine and rehabilitation care of the injured athlete. Promotes healthy behaviors, builds stronger relationships, and increases accessibility to community projects. Provides instruction to community allied health providers in emergency care of the injured athlete. Travel is an extensive part of this role.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training, or Physical Education required.
Illinois Athletic Trainer license.
BLS certification.
3 years of technical experience.
Must have strong computer background skills.

Nice To Haves

Masters of Science in H.P.E.R. preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides written reports for monthly statistics to Sports Coordinator.
Communicates with, but not limited to Safety, HR, physician, Case Manager, Insurance Adjuster, therapy provider, coach, AD and injured client/athlete to facilitate efficient and appropriate services.
Assesses and develops health and wellness services for outreach clients.
Performs educational sessions for outreach clients on injury prevention, nutritional plans and emergency care.
Implements preventative/early intervention care and instruction for all athletes.
Provides education and training to allied health providers in the community for the proper transport and care of the injured athlete.
Travels with the athletic team to all events as required.
Performs thorough sports medicine assessment.
Develops appropriate Plan of Care.
Provides care to the athlete during organized athletic events.
Ensures documentation is accurate, complete and timely.
Assists with coverage during staff shortages and periods of high census/workload.
Implements preventative care instructions/programs for schools, parents and athletes.
