To provide athletic therapy services to assigned teams, contributing to the integrated health and performance care of UBC Athletes. The athletic therapist role is approximately 50% clinical and 50% on-field coverage. The clinical role involves assessing and treating injured athletes from UBC varsity sports using current athletic therapy practices. Responsible for providing on-field first aid and athlete care in the daily training environment and games for select sports (i.e. football, rugby and hockey among others). Additional duties include but are not limited to collaborating with integrated support team staff (Strength and Conditioning, Dietetics, Medicine, Physiotherapy, Psychology), working with coaches and assisting in return to play decisions. The objectives are to provide opportunities for UBC Varsity athletes to develop to their fullest potential as student-athletes. The shifts for this position will vary depending on varsity training and competition schedules. A flexible approach to work is required. Attendance is required at select varsity games (evenings and weekends) as well as, an ability to travel with teams when required.
