About The Position

Deliver high quality recreation services for residents, visitors and the St. Charles community by adhering to the District’s safety and administrative policies and procedures. This position is well suited for someone with a friendly and positive personality who is productive and shows initiative, is an effective written and oral communicator, is reliable and safety-minded. Under the direction and supervision of the Superintendent of Recreation, Assistant Superintendent of Recreation – Athletics and Sportsplex and the Athletic Supervisor, the Athletic Field Supervisor shall complete their assigned duties to the best of their abilities, offering suggestions of better ways to accomplish jobs and be ever mindful of the best interests of the St. Charles Park District and of fellow employees.

Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of 16 years of age.
  • High School diploma or in progress.
  • Maintain First Aid/CPR/AED certification or obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Maintain DCFS Mandated Reporter certification or obtain certification within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • One-year experience in face-to-face program delivery is desirable.
  • Understanding of the rules and procedures for adult sports.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all departmental safety rules that pertain to the duties performed and support all aspects of Park District’s safety and risk management program.
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with residents, colleagues, the public, PDRMA and other agencies or organizations as delegated.
  • Recommends improvements and efficiencies to better accomplish individual and district goals in the best interests of the St. Charles Park District community.
  • Comply with Park District policies and administrative procedures.
  • Work cooperatively and harmoniously with the general public, other facility users and fellow employees.
  • Effectively communicate orally.
  • Assist in supervising all scheduled activities.
  • Prepare fields for games.
  • Work with large groups.
  • Monitor and request supplies, as needed.
  • Perform First Aid as necessary.
  • Complete Accident reports according to Park District Guidelines.
  • Resolve problems with participants.
  • Follow all safety procedures that pertain to duties involved.
  • Maintain certification in First Aid.
  • Assist with emergency procedures and field evacuation.
