About The Position

Under the direction of the school principal, the Athletic Director is responsible for supporting the Diocese of Tucson in its mission to evangelize and catechize youth in a Catholic School environment. This role is responsible for the coordination of all athletic activities of the school. The employee shall be a minister of the Gospel and Catholic Teaching both academically and behaviorally while at work and in his/her personal life, demonstrating adherence to Catholic morals and principles. The position requires a commitment to fostering lay leadership in the Catholic Church and modeling Gospel values.

Requirements

A working knowledge of and a strong commitment to the mission of fostering lay leadership in the Catholic Church.
If a baptized Catholic, must be a practicing Roman Catholic in full communion with the Church.
Excellent communications skills including written, verbal, public speaking, and presentation skills.
Excellent human relations and interpersonal skills.
Must be a self-starter and be well-organized.
Must be a team player.
Be available for evening and weekend work as necessary.
Have reliable transportation.
Be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proficiency in the use of computer technology including word processing and the use of excel and related technology.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Flexibility in assessing needs and strategies and adapt appropriately in a ministerial environment.
The ability to successfully complete a criminal history and background check.
Professional bearing and clean and neat personal appearance.
Complete a criminal history and background check.
Valid and current Arizona DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Arizona Department of Education Certified Teacher preferred
Level I of the Diocesan Ministry Certification
Working knowledge of all Arizona and Diocese of Tucson Catholic School sports regulations
Basic First-Aid Certification
