About The Position

The Athletic Director serves as the senior leader of Jupiter Christian School’s athletic program for grades 2–12 and is responsible for the vision, strategy, management, and spiritual leadership of all athletic operations. This role carries full departmental ownership, including staffing, budgeting, compliance, scheduling, facilities, transportation, communication, and athletic culture. The Athletic Director must be a spiritually mature, mission‑aligned leader who models Christ‑centered character and excellence, serving as a Christian role model in accordance with Scripture (I Timothy 4:12; Luke 6:40) and the Conditions of Employment outlined in the JCS faculty contract.

Requirements

  • Clear testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Active membership and involvement in a local church.
  • Alignment with the JCS Statement of Faith and mission.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year institution (required).
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in high school or collegiate athletic administration.
  • Program leadership, event management, and staff supervision.
  • Budget management and operational oversight.
  • Strong communication, organization, and conflict‑resolution skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Athletic Administration, Sports Management, Coaching, Educational Leadership, or related field (preferred).
  • C.A.A. or C.M.A.A. certification (preferred).
  • Coaching experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide vision, leadership, and strategic direction for all athletic programs.
  • Develop a Christ‑centered athletic culture emphasizing discipleship, integrity, leadership development, and sportsmanship.
  • Directly supervise, mentor, evaluate, and develop all coaches and athletic staff.
  • Oversee the Strength and Conditioning room and athletic performance initiatives.
  • Direct all home athletic events, serving as the lead administrator on site.
  • Ensure events are safe, organized, compliant, and reflect positively on JCS.
  • Oversee game operations including: Ticketing and cash handling, Announcements and clock operations, Staffing, security, and crowd management, Official assignments and payment processing.
  • Respond to and manage emergencies, conflicts, or issues during events.
  • Establish and manage all athletic schedules for practices, contests, and facilities.
  • Coordinate competitions with other schools and athletic conferences.
  • Manage cancellations, rescheduling, and communication of schedule changes.
  • Publish and maintain weekly athletic schedules and event grids.
  • Serve as the primary compliance officer for all athletic programs.
  • Ensure full compliance with: FHSAA regulations, SSAC requirements, School and conference policies.
  • Maintain eligibility records for all student‑athletes.
  • Educate coaches, athletes, and families on rules and expectations.
  • Direct all ordering, distribution, and collection of athletic equipment and uniforms.
  • Maintain complete inventory records for all athletic gear and supplies.
  • Coordinate use of fields, courts, locker rooms, and off‑campus facilities.
  • Collaborate with the facilities team on maintenance schedules and upgrades.
  • Oversee and coordinate transportation for all teams.
  • Arrange buses, vans, drivers, and travel logistics.
  • Communicate transportation details clearly with coaches and drivers.
  • Ensure student safety and punctuality for all athletic travel.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between athletics, parents, administration, and student services.
  • Communicate early dismissals and scheduling impacts to appropriate departments.
  • Oversee and maintain: Athletic website content, Announcements and newsletters, Social media platforms.
  • Develop and maintain community partnerships that support the athletic program.
  • Work alongside advancement on athletic branding and school spirit initiatives.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor the athletic department budget.
  • Track expenses, invoices, reimbursements, and coach stipends.
  • Monitor team spending and ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Approve purchases and oversee vendor relationships.
  • Lead the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of all coaches and support staff.
  • Provide ongoing supervision, evaluation, and professional development.
  • Set expectations for coach conduct, performance, and spiritual leadership.
  • Promote leadership development opportunities for staff.
  • Direct all major athletic events, including: Banquets, Senior nights, College signings and scholarship recognition.
  • Oversee athletic awards programs and Letter Winners Club.
  • Partner with the Eagle Fan Club to build school spirit and community engagement.
