About The Position

The Athletic Director provides guidance and direction for a school’s sports program, including managing budgets, overseeing equipment, coordinating schedules, and ensuring compliance with regulations. This role involves facility management, organizing travel, communicating with various stakeholders, and supervising staff. The Athletic Director is responsible for athlete eligibility, fundraising, and representing the school in league matters.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years Head Coaching Experience
  • Budgeting & Finance: Managing departmental funds, operating expenses, and organizing fundraising events.
  • Leadership & Personnel Management: Hiring, evaluating, and supervising coaches and athletic staff.
  • Communication: Coordinating with parents, school boards, alumni, and the broader community.
  • Possession of a valid Nevada Substitute Teaching License

Responsibilities

  • Providing guidance and direction for a school’s sports program
  • Preparing budgets and allocating spending on items such as coaches' salaries, team travel, equipment purchases, and facility upkeep and submitting invoices regularly; oversight for all athletic programs' gear and equipment
  • Collect submit and file all coaches paperwork
  • Coordinating with coaches about the scheduling of games and practices
  • Scheduling preseason and postseason meetings with coaches
  • Collaborating with conferences and leagues about scheduling issues
  • Speaking with league officials about subjects such as postseason play
  • Facility management Coordinator: responsible for maintaining schedules for all facilities, courts, weight room, etc. Also responsible for upkeep, condition, and inventory
  • Impact Testing Coordinator: Coaches are administering tests for every sport in every season to ensure compliance
  • Organizes away travel, including transportation and overnight stay
  • Coordinating officials and umpires at games and budgeting for their pay
  • Presenting reports on the status of each team and its successes and shortcomings
  • Mediating any disputes between athletes and coaches or between coaches and parents
  • Securing home sites and facilitating operations for home games, including concessions, game workers, gate fees, and managing all athletic events
  • NIAA Representative for CAS
  • League Representative for CAS
  • Communicate effectively as needed with media
  • Register My Athlete (Aktivate) Administrator-responsible for all paperwork, registration completion, or athlete clearance
  • Completing tasks on time and meeting NIAA and district expectations for deadlines
  • Liaison with student-athletes and college coaches
  • Supervise Equipment inventories and uniforms
  • Work with HR and athletic administration to hire coaches in accordance with the SOP and manage Final Forms (Coach registration)
  • Fundraising supervisor
  • Manage student activity/accounts for fundraising and payment portal
  • Disseminate materials and enforce rules and regulations, including player eligibility, handbook and more
  • Oversee athletic banquets and family nights dedicated to athletes including needs and materials
  • Collect, file, and notify athletes and coaches regarding student eligibility as it pertains to policies.
  • Coordinate the ordering and distribution of letters and certificates. academic awards
  • Coordinating of community events such as sports clinics, feeder school events and clash of the programs
  • Relaying information to staff and families about schedules, calendars, including release time for games
  • Regularly review (at least once/season) budget with the administration
  • Attend monthly meetings with Athletic Administration and ‘coaches’ if available
  • Communicating effectively with all stakeholders & representation from student-athletes to parents to administration to business office
