Provides leadership and guidance in initiating, developing, and improving the interscholastic athletic program for all students. This role involves organizing, administering, and supervising the operation of the school athletic program, working collaboratively with county-wide coordinators and principals to ensure a quality athletic experience. The Athletic Director is responsible for initiating, organizing, maintaining, developing, and evaluating extra-curricular athletic activities, attending relevant meetings, and ensuring the safety and security of athletic facilities and equipment. Budget preparation, financial record maintenance, and the selection and supervision of coaches are key components of this position. Additionally, the role focuses on planning and coordinating team schedules, practice areas, transportation, and officials, while also promoting positive public relations with the community and supporting booster organizations. The Athletic Director also manages athletic awards, interprets rules and regulations, develops codes of conduct, and oversees the recognition of student and coach accomplishments. Administrative supervision of athletic events, evaluation of coaches, and engagement in professional development are also integral to the position. Coordination of community use of facilities, assignment of security personnel, monitoring student athlete outcomes, and assigning teachers for extra-curricular duties are also part of the responsibilities. This is a 12-month position.
