Requirements

  • High school degree or the equivalent.
  • 2 plus years of full-time supervisory experience.
  • At least five years of experience in a customer service setting.
  • Ability to operate a computer successfully, including Excel, Word, and Google Docs.
  • Ability to lift and move 30 lbs., 30% of the time.
  • Ability to communicate in English.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Strong oral communication skills.
  • Competency in dealing with Club Members and fellow employees under circumstances requiring tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to work effectively under time deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree or industry experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with POS system Jonas for charging is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Successful daily oversight of all assigned areas at The Athletic Club.
  • Hire and train staff to ensure consistent service that exceeds expectations.
  • Act as "manager on duty" for the Athletic Club, providing professionalism and fostering positive interactions.
  • Ensure systems are consistent and tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Provide leadership for assigned Athletic Club Departments.
  • Provide and establish daily supervision of all assigned Departments.
  • Create standardized procedures and policies for the service staff.
  • Facilitate and attend meetings necessary for the growth of the department and resort.
  • Conduct regular walk-throughs to ensure cleanliness, organization, safety, and productivity.
  • Create measurable goals for assigned service staff and hold them accountable.
  • Communicate the rules of the club to the Athletic Club team, Members, and guests.
  • Seek to improve systems in all Departments for operational success and positive Member experience.
  • Create an environment that is productive, professional, and enjoyable for the staff.
  • Create and manage labor of assigned areas, including proper coverage and scheduling.
  • Ensure the financial goals of the department are met according to budget.
  • Create/Assist/Promote Holiday events at the Club.
  • Handle conflict in a calm, professional manner.
  • Be available to oversee operations from open to close with a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Work closely with the Athletic Club Director to assist in all areas.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Club & Spa Director.
