About The Position

Under the supervision of the Athletic Director, the Athletic Assistant supports in the successful operation of designated Athletic programs within the organization. This role ensures the safety of all participants, assists with training and organization, and promotes athletic leagues and camps.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • A minimum of two years’ experience of collegiate experience playing sports for assigned clinic.
  • Physical ability to lead and interact in group activities and perform job related tasks.
  • Minimum of two years playing, coaching, or referee experience in one or more of the following sports: basketball, baseball/softball, soccer, flag football/football, or volleyball.
  • Must have visual, physical and auditory ability to act swiftly in emergency situations
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Person will be of flawless integrity.
  • Mandatory negative TB test.
  • Applicants must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities are required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position and to supervise program activities.
  • Requires ability to walk, sit, stand, bend, squat, pull/push, grasp up to 4-8 hours per day.

  • Demonstrated organizational, staff, and project management abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of all players, volunteers, and spectators during athletic practices, games and events.
  • Monitor practices and games.
  • Help train referees.
  • Organize and distribute Athletic equipment as needed.
  • Support Athletic Director with organizing teams, scheduling and other administrative tasks.
  • Coach or substitute coach as needed.
  • Referee or substitute referee as needed.
  • Assist in promoting Athletic Leagues/Camps.
  • Fill in for absent Program Coordinators as needed.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.
