About The Position

The Blinn College District is searching for a Full Time Athletic Assistant Men's and Women's Golf at our Brenham Campus. This role involves working closely with the Head Coach and Assistant Coaches to teach, mentor, and monitor student athletes. The position requires assisting coaches in various aspects of the program, including practices, games, events, and recruitment. It also involves supervising extra-curricular activities, compiling sports information, assisting with promotions and marketing, maintaining athletic equipment and facilities, and supporting the strength and conditioning program. Additionally, the role includes monitoring team academics, assisting in the supervision of residence halls and dining halls, and adhering to all Blinn College and NJCAA policies and regulations. Evening and weekend work is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or relevant certification.
  • Current Texas driver's license or ability to obtain.
  • Experience in assisting in the assigned sport.
  • Ability to effectively motivate, teach, and supervise students.
  • Ability to maintain a professional relationship with students and peers.
  • Ability to fully comply with NJCAA rules and regulations.
  • Ability to fully comply with Blinn College District policies and procedures.
  • Reliable transportation to travel between worksites and complete job duties.
  • Evening and weekend work is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in health or Kinesiology from an accredited college or university.
  • Coaching or Playing experience at the NJCAA level.
  • Knowledge of NJCAA, Texas, & Region XIV Golf recruiting rules and guidelines.
  • Coaching experience at the junior college, university, or high school level.
  • Proficient in using technology.
  • Knowledge of NJCAA & Region XIV Conference rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Texas recruiting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the coach(s) in practice, games or events.
  • Ability to travel with the team and/or coaching staff to games, events and recruitment.
  • Assist in the supervision of extra-curricular activities.
  • Compiles sports information, including but not limited to statistics and reporting, as assigned.
  • Assists with promotions and marketing of the Blinn College athletic program.
  • Helps maintain the athletic equipment and facilities.
  • Assists with scouting, recruiting and other work related duties.
  • Attend all required meetings with Athletic Director.
  • Assist in supervising the strength and conditioning program.
  • Assist with monitoring team academics including study halls, classroom checks and academic progress reports of student athletes.
  • Assist in the supervision of the Colleges residence halls and dining hall.
  • Evening and weekend work is required.
  • Adhere to all Blinn College policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to all NJCAA rules and regulations.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned.
