About The Position

At the Louisiana Department of Revenue, we are dedicated to fairly and efficiently administering the state’s tax laws to ensure compliance while providing exceptional customer service. We’re looking for an ATC Agent to join our Office of Alcohol & Tobacco Control team to help ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations through the monitoring and inspection of those licensed with, or seeking licensure from, the Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control.

Requirements

Two years of experience in active military service or in law enforcement.
Applicant must be at least 21 years of age.
Possession of a current Louisiana driver's license.
This position requires the incumbent to handle and carry firearms.
An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws are granted.
Applicants must have Civil Service test scores for the 2100-Protective Services Exam (PSE) to be considered for this vacancy unless exempted by Civil Service rules or policy.

Nice To Haves

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience.
Applicants who possess a current P.O.S.T. certification should attach their certification when their application is submitted.

Responsibilities

Conduct inspections and investigations and prepare reports of each investigation/inspection.
Maintain investigative files and current data on alcoholic beverage and tobacco outlets in assigned area.
Conduct underage compliance operations to determine frequency of sales of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products to minors.
Monitors assigned areas for rates of compliance.
Conduct physical Inspections of proposed alcoholic beverage and tobacco outlets applying to be licensed to ensure requirements of state and local laws have been met.
