About The Position

Visiting Angels of Anniston is hiring At Home Caregivers to serve clients in Talladega, Munford, Anniston, Harpersville, Riverside, Lincoln, and other local areas. Caregivers support clients’ quality of life and wellness by following their individual care plans. The role includes personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, mobility support, medication reminders, and transportation or accompaniment for errands and appointments. Advanced training opportunities in dementia care and Alzheimer’s care are available.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a reliable personal vehicle for transporting clients.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
First Aid and emergency-response training; training is provided if needed.
Excellent time-management skills and ability to juggle multiple duties.
Reliable transportation to and from client homes at scheduled times.
Physical endurance to carry groceries and physically support clients.
Comfort performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraints.
Willingness and ability to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards, including a background check.
Compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten clients’ days.

Nice To Haves

Interest in advanced training in dementia care and/or Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Assist clients with light physical exercise or walks.
Plan and prepare meals with clients while observing applicable dietary constraints.
Perform light housekeeping duties.
Report health changes or unusual incidents.
Provide pleasant, supportive companionship.
Respond quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
Accompany and supervise clients during shopping trips.
Remind clients to take prescription medications appropriately.
Assist with mobility and ambulation at home and during appointments or errands.
Transport clients using a reliable personal vehicle.
