About The Position

Revelstoke Mountain Sports School seeks to recruit and retain experienced, attentive and enthusiastic employees to represent the Mountain Sports School as an AST 1 trainer to conduct AST 1 courses on resort. Our focus is to provide our Guests with a memorable experience at RMR, in a fun and safe learning environment for all participants.

Requirements

• Work eligibility in Canada
• CAA member in good standing
• Completed Avalanche Operations 1
• Experience teaching AST 1 courses
• Meet the continuing professional development requirements established by Avalanche Canada
• Can produce physical SIN card or valid revenue Canada doc including full SIN number
• Bondable, with a criminal record check less than 3 months old

Responsibilities

• Lead the AST 1 courses in class and on snow
• Follow Avalanche Canada/RMR’s AST 1 curriculum, classroom policies and IT policies
• Participate in the development of Avalanche Canada/RMR’s AST 1 team and curriculum
• Coordinate with snow school desk staff on facilities, materials, equipment preparedness
