About The Position
MGO (Macias, Gini & O'Connell LLP) is seeking an experienced Assurance Senior Associate to join its Corporate Assurance team. The role leads and performs audit engagements for public and private companies, works directly with clients, and helps develop junior team members while delivering exceptional client service. MGO serves organizations across industries including technology, sports and entertainment, cannabis, and state and local government.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, with required accounting coursework.
- At least 3 years of public accounting or audit experience.
- Working knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and audit methodologies.
- Strong communication, project management, and client service skills.
Nice To Haves
- CPA license, CPA candidate status, or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam.
- PCAOB experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform financial statement audits in accordance with GAAP, GAAS, and PCAOB standards.
- Lead engagement areas, coordinate client communications, and supervise associates.
- Review workpapers, ensure audit quality, and help engagements stay on budget and on schedule.
- Assist with engagement planning, risk assessment, and budgeting.
- Prepare and review financial statements and audit documentation.
- Identify client challenges and recommend practical solutions that improve efficiency and quality.
- Develop expertise in accounting and auditing standards while mentoring junior staff.
