About The Position

The assistant coach will aid the head high school coach. They will help the coach guide student-athletes to play a fair game, follow the rules and regulations, and encourage students to maintain academic eligibility. The assistant Volleyball coach will aid with supervision of students during all aspects of the sport. Encourage the players to come up with their weak areas and provide support helping to evolve. Other responsibilities include to keep players abreast of their everyday progress, to always speak to develop the confidence of the players. Follow local, state and national organization procedures, rules and guidelines. Be present at practices, games and while traveling.

Requirements

Must maintain an image of a positive role model.
Good organizing skills to assist the head coach in making good game plans.
Must possess mastery over the game, with relative experience and talent.
Significant motivational skills to encourage the players to play a free game.
In-depth knowledge about the different strategies implemented to play the game.
Must be physically as well as mentally strong.
Has acquired the skill to play in the spirit of the game.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
Leadership qualities to coordinate the game under the direction of the head coach.
Must possess patience and have outstanding quality to perform under pressure.
Be an inspiration to the sportsperson to play in the spirit of the game.
Maintain a calm stance on losing the game without putting the blame or discouraging the players.
Love for the game and commendable expertise in playing the game.
Fundamentals of Coaching Course (online) passed prior to second year of coaching (one time requirement).
Completion of a Sports First Aid Course prior to second year.
CPR Certification (provided if hired).
Concussion Sports Course.
MSHSAA Sport-Specific Online Rules Review each season.
Understand all-round nuances of the game.
Understand the strategy used in the name of the game.
Experience required to encourage the team spirit amongst the student-athletes.

Responsibilities

Aid the players to develop their technical skills.
Instill in the players the spirit of the game.
In association with the head coach, plan strategies and the game.
Equip the players in training drills during the practice sessions.
Be on the lookout for new talent and encourage the players to be on their best foot.
Inculcate a team spirit among the players as well as boost the confidence of the players.
Aid with supervision of students during all aspects of the sport.
Encourage the players to identify their weak areas and provide support helping them to evolve.
Keep players informed of their everyday progress.
Speak to develop the confidence of the players.
Follow local, state and national organization procedures, rules and guidelines.
Be present at practices, games and while traveling.
