About The Position

Alternatives, Inc. in Raritan, NJ is looking to hire a full-time Assistant Day Program Manager to support adults with developmental disabilities and help oversee the program. This role offers growth opportunities within the Human Services DD field and the chance to make a positive difference in the community. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks and a drug screen
  • Clear tuberculosis (TB) screening
  • Ability to pass and maintain required trainings such as CPR/first aid, medication administration, and positive behavioral support training
  • Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist adults with developmental disabilities in living as independently as possible.
  • Ensure the comfort and safety of each client.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living such as administering medication, cooking meals, performing personal hygiene, and transportation to medical appointments.
  • Assist in the implementation of individual behavioral plans.
  • Teach new skills and help clients achieve goals using effective teaching and mentoring techniques.
  • Encourage client interests and drive them to community outings and recreational activities based on individual preferences and behavioral plans.
  • Report any concerns about client health and safety.
  • Keep documentation accurate and up-to-date.
  • Assist the Group Home Manager with staff scheduling, budgeting, communication with doctors' offices and parents/guardians, and performing fire drills.
