About The Position

Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital (TJUH), is seeking applications for a full-time, employed faculty position as an Interventional Cardiologist in the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology, at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The candidate will serve as clinical faculty in the Bruce and Robbi Toll Heart and Vascular Institute (HVI). The Interventional Cardiologist will have a focus on complex coronary interventions, intracoronary imaging, rotational/orbital atherectomy and structural heart interventions such as TAVR, TMVR, mTEER, tTEER, TTVR, PFO/ASD closure, paravalvular leak closure, WATCHMAN/LAAO implantation. Experience with and insertion of mechanical circulatory support devices (including intra-aortic balloon pump, left ventricular assist devices such as Impella CP, Impella 5.5, right ventricular assist devices, and VA ECMO for high-risk procedures is preferred. The position consists of 3-3.5 days performing procedures in the catheterization laboratory and/or hybrid OR at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, 1 day in clinic at the TJUH Honickman Outpatient Center. The candidate would be expected to develop a robust outpatient practice. The candidate will be expected to work and function well in a multidisciplinary team environment with cardiac surgery, general and critical care cardiology, cardiology imaging, electrophysiology and heart failure/transplant colleagues (physicians and APPs). Administrative/Research time equivalent to ½ day per week would be provided. Night and weekend calls would be 1 in 6 with equal rotation through holidays. The candidate will take an active part in teaching Interventional Fellows, Cardiovascular Disease Fellows, medical house staff and medical students. Research productivity commensurate with experience and interests would be expected. It would be expected that the candidate would participate in ongoing, and new clinical trials in their area of interest. For fellow applicants coming out of training, emphasis will be placed on mentorship and early career development. The candidate joins a group of over 50 full-time academic cardiologists in an expanding multidisciplinary practice in a supportive environment, with strong clinical, research and teaching programs, including robust structural and interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, advanced heart failure and transplant programs, and specialized programs in cardio-oncology, cardio-obstetrics, and specialized amyloidosis and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy clinics. Requirements

  • Applicants must have a MD/DO degree
  • Possess board certification in Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology
  • Should possess a license or be eligible to practice medicine in Pennsylvania by the time the appointment starts.

Responsibilities
