About The Position

The UAB Department of Psychiatry invites applications for a full-time faculty position for a licensed (or Alabama license-eligible) clinical psychologist within the Division of Adult. We seek a psychologist with experience or strong interest in the treatment of pediatric Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). This position offers a unique opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team dedicated to advancing clinical care in pediatric FND. The successful candidate will receive training and certification in Retraining and Control Therapy (ReACT), a research-supported cognitive behavioral intervention for FND developed at UAB and will have the opportunity to contribute to ongoing clinical research and program development in this rapidly evolving field. This position provides an outstanding opportunity to deliver innovative, evidence-based care to children and adolescents with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). The role centers on clinical excellence and compassionate, patient-focused practice. Clinicians will join a collaborative team within a nationally recognized Department of Psychiatry, dedicated to advancing outcomes and transforming care for pediatric FND.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
  • Completion of an APA-accredited internship.
  • Completion of (at minimum) a 1-year postdoctoral fellowship (child/adolescent focus preferred).
  • Eligibility for licensure in Alabama.
