About The Position

Sunset Distributing is looking for a detail-oriented Assistant Inventory Manager to assist the Inventory Manager’s duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certificate required
  • 2 years of inventory and/or accounting experience.
  • Highly Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage priorities, coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, and attentive to details.
  • Able to work flexible hours as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor compliance with product freshness policies, which include proper product labeling and rotation in the warehouse.
  • Analyze and resolve inventory discrepancies, working with various departments and management levels.
  • Develop and implement procedures that target the reduction of the following finished product loss categories: breakage, out-of-control, overages, and shortages.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound deliveries and product transfers.
  • Notify management and sales personnel of out-of-stock, low-in-stock, or close-to-code situations.
  • Manage claims for receiving/returning breakages, overages, and shortages.
  • Proof and reconcile invoices, credits, cooperage, and pallet credits.
  • Process in-transit invoices and credits monthly and follow up on outstanding cooperage/pallet returns.
