About The Position

Object Technology Solutions, Inc (OTSI) has an immediate opening for a Asst Engineering Technician. This role provides technical support to engineering teams under close supervision, performing tasks that require a basic understanding of engineering principles and practices. The technician will use digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling) to assist with the creation, modification, and maintenance of technical documents, drawings, and project deliverables. They will participate in the evaluation of methods used in development and design activities to support continuous improvement and efficiency. The role involves continuously learning and applying established standards, systems, document control practices, departmental guidelines, and BV policies and procedures, ensuring deliverables are accurate and compliant by developing knowledge of the BV Quality Program. The technician will demonstrate strong personal accuracy and support continuous improvement and change management initiatives. They will expand technical knowledge to modify and develop less complex deliverables using various design inputs. Additionally, they may assist with minor technical tasks such as material quantity estimates and dimensional checks, and coordinate deliverables with other project disciplines to reduce errors and interferences. The role requires prioritizing internal client needs while developing a basic understanding of external client drivers and expectations, and proactively seeking out and sharing knowledge of emerging technologies and processes.

Requirements

Performs technical tasks requiring advanced knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices, with a focus on creating and modifying site plans, grading designs, and utility layouts using advanced techniques in industry-standard design tools such as Autodesk Civil 3D and Bentley MicroStation
Diploma or Certificate required.
Typically a minimum of 1 year related work experience.

Nice To Haves

Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
