About The Position

Provides technical leadership to team. Establishes, aggregates, and shares team standards and best practices across department. Mentors, guides and coaches engineers within their division for job performance as well as technical and leadership growth. Recruits, hires and onboards talent, ensuring the right mix of talent within team. Manages team size / design and budget. Ensures production stability, monitoring, and root cause analysis for their products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 6-8 years of professional experience required.
  • 3-5+ years of experience working with modern engineering tools, languages and practices.
  • 2-5+ years of experience leading engineering teams including: Growing engineering skill sets in others.
  • Developing future engineering leaders.
  • Providing direct feedback and performance reviews.
  • Proven track record of successfully designing and delivering significant and impactful technology solutions.
  • Experience developing and leading solution delivery using agile methods.
  • Solid understanding of the organizations primary domains and business functions.
  • Capable of communicating between product, engineering, and the business.
  • Ability to successfully communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences in varying forms and levels of detail.
  • Leads the team to collaboration.

  • Manages team size / design and budget.
  • Ensures production stability, monitoring, and root cause analysis for their products.
  • Holds self and their direct reports accountable for measurable, high-quality, timely, and cost-effective results, delivery, and execution.
  • Determines objectives, sets priorities, delegates work to direct reports, and accepts responsibility for mistakes.
  • Formulates strategies to be used to convey complex information about services, products, systems, or processes to targeted audiences; communicates and liaises between technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Utilizes both business acumen and technology expertise to translate business requirements/capabilities into technical solutions, and applies technical knowledge of a product/platform/application to align it with a particular line of business (LOB) based on the organization's technology needs and business goals.
  • Develops others by providing actionable, constructive feedback through the lens of technical expertise and offers guidance to others on how to leverage, prioritize, and develop skills to achieve one's goals and objectives.
  • Facilitates collaboration, communication, coordination, and planning with individuals and teams from different functions within the organization, and who have different areas of expertise, to achieve common goals.
  • Develops direct reports' skills based on organizational objectives, evaluates skill gaps, and manages succession planning to develop more capable direct reports, diverse, strong teams and better organizational performance in an equitable and inclusive manner.
  • Conducts in-depth analysis of technology needs, issues, and roadblocks within assigned scope, applies best practice based on experience and expertise, explores the art of possible.
  • Solves problems effectively and gains alignment on the path forward.
  • Defines, understands, and documents what is being solved for.
