Requirements

  • 2+ years of food service management experience.
  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Financial experience and business acumen skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervision of all service areas, maintaining high quality service to the customers.
  • Hiring, scheduling, training, evaluating, and disciplining full-time, part-time, and student employees.
  • Receiving, inspecting, securing, and inventory of food and supplies necessary for preparation of standardized recipes.
  • Forecasting, estimating and ordering food and supplies necessary for preparation of standardized recipes.
  • Instructing service line employees how to serve items, size and price of portion and what garnishes to use.
  • Has knowledge of all ingredients for menu items and how they are prepared. Taste tests food items to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Implements policies and procedures.
  • Maintains all related records.
  • Promotes customer satisfaction by answering questions, solving problems, or securing information regarding Bowling Green State University Dining, and displaying good public relations.
  • Ensures courteous and prompt service.
  • Has working knowledge of all kitchen equipment, basic office equipment, computer, and cash registers.
  • Knows and practices principals of food sanitation, personal health and cleanliness, time management, fire prevention, safety, and accident and theft prevention.
