About The Position

Kingwood Pines Hospital is a 116-bed facility located in the beautiful residential Kingwood community, approximately 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services and serves children, adolescents, and adults for psychiatric and behavioral health needs. The hospital also offers intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services. Under the direction/supervision of the Director, Admissions/Intake, the Assistant Director of Admissions/Intake will provide direct leadership to Admissions staff. This role involves assisting with psychiatric assessments and basic medical screening for all psychiatric and chemical dependency patients presented for assessment and evaluation. The Assistant Director will coordinate the admission process for inpatient, partial, or outpatient programs and facilitate referrals for outpatient services and other community resources.

Requirements

  • A minimum of four (4) years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting required.
  • Working knowledge of the Addiction & Recovery field.
  • Experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, communicating with external review organizations or comparable entities, and working effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Minimum two (2) years leadership experience managing a related function.
  • Strong management skills with ability to effectively communicate with staff.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in social work, mental health/behavioral sciences, or related field required.
  • Current Texas License as a Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) required.
  • Texas Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • CPR, Handle with Care and Verbal De-Escalation Training (Can be obtained upon hire)
