About The Position

Goldman Sachs Family Office (GSFO) is seeking an Associate to collaborate with Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) in delivering Lifestyle Services to clients and supporting business development initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated and client-focused individual with experience in wealth management and/or family office services. Wealth Management at Goldman Sachs focuses on empowering clients globally to achieve their financial objectives through advisor-led businesses offering financial planning, investment management, banking, and comprehensive advice to ultra-high net worth and high net worth individuals, family offices, foundations, endowments, corporations, and their employees. Our consumer business provides digital solutions for spending, borrowing, investing, and saving. Growth in Wealth Management is driven by a focus on people, clients, customers, and cutting-edge technology, data, and design. Private Wealth Management (PWM) specializes in creating detailed wealth management plans for high net worth individuals and families, as well as select institutions. PWM Teams work closely with clients to provide customized strategies leveraging deep investment experience, diverse wealth management capabilities, and global reach. PWAs offer an extensive investment platform, including tax and estate planning, philanthropic planning, and private banking and lending services. Goldman Sachs Family Office (GSFO) works with PWM to build strong client relationships and deliver a comprehensive suite of wealth planning and family office services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Required, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3-4 years of relevant industry experience in a client-facing role (Family office, wealth management, or other experience working with high-net-worth families, is preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees to exceed clients’ expectations.
  • Understanding of financial and performance reporting within wealth management.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills and a desire to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail; strong logical thinker.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of personal accountability, going above and beyond to ensure services are delivered on time with high quality.
  • Commitment to excellence and a high level of integrity.
  • Self-motivated, and able to balance quality work while meeting short deadlines.
  • Deep interest in the financial markets and good investment sense/commercial instinct.
  • Resourceful, self-starter, attentive to detail with great organizational skills.

  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7 & Series 63 exams (must be obtained within first 3 months of employment).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the day-to-day contact for the delivery of Lifestyle Services, building trust and rapport with PWA teams, clients, and third-party partners.
  • Identify opportunities, highlight best practices, and ensure the highest quality of services across various disciplines including cyber and physical security, domestic staff recruitment, travel, education consultants, and medical advisory.
  • Become a subject matter expert for related service offerings.
  • Support special projects and business development initiatives to enhance the GS Family Office offering, including creating scalable solutions, evaluating new service offerings, and executing opportunities.
  • Partner with PWM teams to manage the client lifecycle with vendors, from marketing and needs evaluation to introductions and ongoing relationship management.
  • Facilitate client introductions to PWA teams and third-party service providers to ensure timely deliverables.
  • Build PWA and client loyalty to minimize churn by understanding client needs and developing relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate, problem-solve, and strategize with PWA teams on service delivery solutions.
  • Track and resolve client requests and feedback.
  • Foster a client-centric team environment.
  • Help clients understand the benefits and considerations of each service and manage expectations.
  • Support the identification, evaluation, and development of best-in-class third-party partnerships and manage senior third-party contacts.
  • Develop, document, and enhance processes for efficiency in evolving environments and vendor relationships.
  • Manage new service offering launches, rollouts, and ongoing service management.
  • Act as a champion for service offerings, generating excitement for product launches and updates.
  • Define success criteria and core metrics for vendor partners, including leading indicators for business performance evaluation.
  • Stay updated on internal and external technology partners and explore leveraging technology and services for efficiency.
